Practice of Understanding
As you practice meditation and readjust your attitudes, reactions and behaviour in living your daily life your understanding will change.
Exercise your understanding and motivation
You can encourage this by exercising your understanding and motivations in new ways: contemplating, questioning what seems familiar, looking at everyday things in new ways, discussing with MBW friends, and (if you like) studying certain teachings.
Gradually, you will become wiser, and more compassionate to other people, animals and plants.
You will slowly come to have what has been called a ‘spiritual’ outlook (but one need not call it that, or anything at all). This involves a changed and broader (holistic) outlook on
- what you are
- what human life is
- what all ‘life’ is
- what the ‘universe’ is
- what birth and death are
- pain, grief, illness and suffering
- what happiness and joy are
- what time, past, present and future are
- personal relationships and your expectations of yourself and others
- what is of real value in life
- what a modest place ‘thinking’, ‘explaining’ and ‘holding views’ should have
Your life – and your intentions and motives - will start coming together as one.
